Welcome to Blessings In A Book Bag!
In 2015, 17.4% of Georgia citizens experienced a lack of food within households. Food security is needed for children to live an active and healthy life. Blessings In A Book Bag Inc. is a non-profit organization that has grown to serve not only Otis J. Brock Elementary School, but we are also at Building Bridges Academy and Susie King Taylor Community School in feeding 130 children every Friday. The original goal of the program was to provide nutritious meals to children and their families who qualify for reduced and free lunches at school so they have food for the weekend.Seven years later and the program able to provide school uniforms and school supplies to these families. Other extended services include free breakfast and fans programs for senior citizens as well as holiday meals at Moses Jackson Community Center.

The Young Kings Crew is a mentoring program whose mission is to provide young men 9-17 years old with educational, leadership, and cultural awareness skills they need to be successful in this world. Our motto is “Young Kings Crew…Where boys become young men“.
Our Creed: “In this life no one owes you anything so you get what you earn. A man that don’t work, he don’t eat. So no excuses accepted. Just results!”
Little Sistars mentoring program is designed for young girls of all races to learn about life skills, etiquette, leadership, conflict resolution, and cultural awareness. We afford our girls the opportunity to have unique experiences that expose them to new adventures, new environments, and new cultures. We would love to have your child or loved one as a part of our program. We are currently accepting applications for girls 8-16 years of age.

UNITY & COLLABORATION
The Inaugural Savannah Sisterhood Symposium is a 3-day event created to recognize and empower the amazing women of our city. The event kicks off on a Friday night with a relaxing mixer and served custom cocktails and delectable bites while mingling with powerful speakers and female entrepreneurs.
Saturday showcases an array of female vendors, raffles, live demonstrations like makeup, cuisine, decorating, entertainment, giveaways, and more!
Sunday is marked by a Women's Empowerment Brunch where we acknowledge a few amazing women in their career fields.
In 2019 Celebrate Savannah’s diversity during the Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend with a 5K race through the downtown Historic district of Savannah followed by a one mile Memory Walk around Forsyth Park to remember those loved ones who have passed on. This event is about unity and coming together in a healthy and collective way as a community.
An awards ceremony will be held at the Forsyth Park
bandstand followed by performances from some of Savannah’s best choirs, dance teams, bands, and solo singers. Supporters and participants are able to grab a bite to eat at the many participating food vendors along with shopping opportunities throughout the day from local businesses.
